The Meaning of “Inventpreneur”
With the introduction of increasingly sophisticated technology, more and more inventors have decided to become the manufacturers of their own products instead of seeking traditional routes to success. This group of entrepreneurial inventors is called “inventpreneurs.” Like the term “infopreneur,” which is derived from “information” and “entrepreneur” and means a person whose primary business is gathering and selling electronic information, the term “inventpreneur” is derived from “invention” and “entrepreneur.” Throughout this book, “inventpreneur” is the term that will be used to refer to inventors who both manufacture and distribute their products.
